I offer private coaching programs to help you get into a healthy relationship with food and your body—so you have the energy and mental space to focus on all the other important relationships in your life.
As a certified intuitive eating counselor, I'll help you reclaim your ability to honor your body's individual needs, including hunger, fullness, satisfaction, and pleasure. I also incorporate my extensive training in eating disorders, Health at Every Size, meditation, and yoga to help you stop dieting and find a balanced approach to food and movement.
In each session, we'll work together to deconstruct unhelpful beliefs about food, gradually replacing them with internal awareness and gentle nutrition to help you feel your best. You'll also get multimedia tools and worksheets to help you implement our work between sessions, and you'll have access to me via email anytime you need support.
Please note: My coaching programs aren't appropriate for people struggling with active eating disorders (i.e. those who are engaging in dangerous behaviors such as purging, or those who are engaging in food restriction or bingeing once a week or more). If you have an eating disorder, please see the National Eating Disorders Association for referrals instead.
In a society full of conflicting nutrition information, where media images depict unrealistic standards of beauty and diet products are marketed incessantly, it's no wonder so many people struggle with their eating and worry about their weight. We live in an incredibly body-negative world that thrives on telling people their bodies aren't good enough as they are. It's a tool of oppression as well as a marketing tactic, and it's very hard to escape in this day and age. So if you're struggling with these issues, know that you're definitely not alone.
My mission is to help you recognize and reject diet culture in all of its forms, tune out the constant noise about nutrition and health, and tune in to your body's intuitive wisdom about hunger, fullness, movement, and rest. I use a Health at Every Size approach to help you make peace with food—which means I'll never put you on a diet or encourage weight loss, whatever your size. Instead, I'll help you achieve authentic health by focusing on your body's needs rather than on its looks.
I'm committed to social justice in everything I do, and I strive to run a fully inclusive and welcoming practice for clients of all ages, sizes, ethnicities, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
In your initial session, we'll discuss your eating history, current relationship with food, and goals for our work. I'll help you assess your needs, and then we'll dive into the principles of intuitive eating. You'll leave with the resources to start putting positive changes into practice right away.
In follow-up sessions, I'll help you assess what's working and troubleshoot what's not. We'll explore your relationship with food in more depth, and I'll provide continuing guidance to help you learn intuitive eating, make peace with food, and improve your body image.
